POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The position of the Horry County Marketing executive is responsible for the service and development of active, inactive and potential new advertising customers leading to revenue and active account growth in Horry County.


  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue goals. Increase sales and active account growth by calling on businesses and organizations in Horry County.
    Provide superior customer service and follow up.
    Daily cold calling and new business development efforts.
    Daily face to face meeting with current and prospective customers.
    Develop expertise in all Georgetown Communication publications in print and online.
    Develop expertise in available market data and be able to effectively present it.
    Develop expertise in competitive strengths and weaknesses and be able to effectively earn greater market share.
    Effectively cross sell across entire product line. Including:
    New products/Services           ▪ Digital Initiatives      ▪ Special Promotions
    Territory growth planning and forecasting.
    Ability to consistently meet established deadlines.
    Territory backup when needed.
    Effectively learn and use all job technology and systems.
    Learn and follow department policies and procedures.
    Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:

  • Undergraduate degree from a four year University preferred.
    Four years’ experience in media outside sales or similar experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable, insured, vehicle.
    Ability to travel as/when required.
    Frequent driving and entering and exiting vehicle.
    Proven sales success.
    Basic use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
    Ability to learn and effectively use job relevant Evening Post business systems including eXpanse, Brainworks, AdPerks, and others as needed.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Close eye work, sitting, walking, standing, listening, and light to moderate lifting 15-30 pounds (per safety policy); frequent travel.
