POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of pressroom and other production equipment. Also manages projects with outside vendors. Coordinates and organizes work performed by outside vendors for equipment installations upgrades or repairs.


  • Maintains and repairs all pressroom and associated production equipment with the main focus on reliability of equipment and its impact on the production schedule.
    Focused on all aspects of equipment maintenance and design that reduce waste, increase efficiency and quality of product.
    Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine problems and determine need for adjustment or repair.
    Has the ability to read blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimension of parts required.
    Can operate basic metal working machinery in order to manufacture repair or modify machine parts.
    Responsible for ordering sourcing and maintaining a controlled inventory of parts and supplies required for pressroom maintenance, repairs and operation.
    Troubleshoots equipment problems to determine the cause or defect and replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces parts if required.
    Assembles and test operates machine to verify all aspects of operation after repairs.
    Has a basic understanding of electrical and electronics systems and can read basic schematics.
    Understands electrical safety procedures and lockout tag out rules.
    Ensures all equipment maintenance is being completed as outlined in the CMMS
    Works well with coworkers while problem solving issues and communicates with supervisors operators and all affected personnel as to the status of equipment.
    Ensures a safe clean work environment for themselves and others and follows all applicable safety rules.
    Maintains a clean efficient and safe work shop and keeps all tools and equipment in good working order.
    Performs other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:

  • High school diploma
    Four (4) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    Ability to write simple correspondence.
    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Knowledge of manufacturing software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
    Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds—per safety policy.
    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
    Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
