Position Description: This position assists the sale team to maximize sales opportunities and revenue. The Account Relationship Specialist is responsible for and not limited to assisting with active and new business accounts related to their assigned outside sales representative in the day-to-day activities of the department. Account Relationship Specialist will perform functions such as, account and prospect correspondence, ad proofing, contract and sales maintenance, ad order entry and other clerical and administrative functions.
Responsibilities: Provide assistance to account executives and management in order to maximize sales opportunities and generating revenue for the advertising department.
- Order ads and submit ad copy/layout and artwork.
Complete paperwork, such as client information for account set up and data for client campaigns
Assist in preparation of sales presentations
Keep team members updated with all sales related material
Research account history including revenue information, trends and billing
Actively look for ways to help sales team make efficient use of their sales time.
Answer client inquiries.
Assist with rate referrals, product information, billing disputes, ad insertion orders and other client questions or concerns in a pro-active, positive manner.
Investigate problems and inquiries with appropriate departments to resolve client issues and report the results to the appropriate sales executive and manager.
Provide quality service to all accounts from the initiation of the ad, through publication and follow-up on results.
Assist in managing and completing reports in a timely manner as requested.
Attend sales meetings and training sessions as requested to obtain essential job information.
Keep team updated on changes in product or process. Assist in the organization of team information and documents.
Cross train to handle other departments.
Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:
- College degree or equivalent sales experience required.
Media sales preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a proven track record of excellence in sales/sales support, strong persuasive oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment in order to handle a variety of duties.
Strong organizational and time management skills required.
Candidate must have proven track record of accuracy to detail and timeliness.
Excellent presentation skills, interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills also required.
Dependable transportation and a valid South Carolina driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
Physical Requirement: Close eye work, continuous sitting, constant walking, standing, light to moderate lifting 15-30 pounds (per safety policy). Must be able to work outside, walk, and drive a car.
