POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for inside and recruitment sales activities (inbound & outbound calls) via phone, email, fax and mail in an efficient, effective and courteous manner, following all instructions and procedures required of the position. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Inside Sales Representative to carry out any other operational task delegated by the Manager.
- Responsible primarily for answering inbound and outbound sales and ad inquiry calls from current customers and making outbound phone sales calls to established business and consumer customers.
Prospecting new business and follow-up on expiring recruitment ads.
Close sales on first contact whenever possible or make follow-up calls to close according to guidelines set by management.
Effectively follow-up with prospects via phone, email and fax to develop business according to timeframes and goals set by management.
Update and maintain database and/or Classified Advertising systems information and records both during and post call as directed as well as daily input into client management system.
Document all calls, emails, and other prospect contacts in systems provided.
Monitor and respond promptly to faxes and emails regarding orders, proofs and other sales support functions.
Treat all clients, client’s callers and internal associates with the utmost courtesy and professionalism at all times.
Communicate to management promptly any sales issues, especially if deadlines or special promotions are involved.
Work to achieve daily, weekly and monthly goals for Not Ready/Available %, attendance, tardiness and monthly sales goals.
Provides back-up for Front Counters and other sales reps as needed.
Participate in staff meetings and training as it is scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:
- Two year college degree in Business or Marketing preferred, or successful phone sales experience
One year experience in phone sales preferred
Previous experience in advertising sales or copy/layout is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone and in emails in a professional and concise manner.
Ability to be persuasive and handle sales objections.
Ability to prospect, sell and service Business accounts in accordance with their hiring needs.
Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services over the phone.
Excellent oral, written and comprehension of English.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a professional manner.
Accurate data entry skills and typing of a minimum of 35 WPM
Demonstrated conflict resolution for handling client or prospect complaints/problems
Analytical skills and good work ethics
Ability to work independently according to procedures and policies given
Experience using Microsoft Word and MS Outlook (or similar email applications)
Strong organizational skills

- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, hearing, speaking and writing; close eye work on computer screen; required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop; light to moderate lifting 15-30 pounds, per safety policy.
